ABOUT:
Luis Heras is a choreographer, educator, and creative director whose work centers on artistry, confidence, and community. His work spans performance, competition, and productions across the United States and Mexico, with a strong emphasis on creating spaces where dancers feel supported, challenged, and empowered to shine.

In 2024, Luis choreographed a music video for Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band, contributing to their album Crayon Kids, which received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Children’s Album. His competitive and professional highlights include 2nd Place – Heels Soloist Competition at HeelsLand (Mexico City, 2024), Grand Champion Soloist – Adult Division at the Sun City Dance Classic (El Paso, 2022, and 2nd Place – Artist of the Year, All Star Division at The Dance Revolution (Mexico City, 2021), where he also toured as a Senior Teacher Assistant leading assistant teams and supporting large-scale competition productions.
Through these experiences, Luis continues to blend technical precision, artistic intention, and community-building to create meaningful performance and training environments.

STAGE BACKGOUND
Beginning in December 2022, Luis Heras served as a Competition Team Choreographer with D’ansa Academy, contributing to competitive programs presented on major national platforms including The Dance Awards, The Dance Revolution (Grand Finals), JUMP Dance Convention, 24Seven Dance Convention, Radix Dance Convention, and Press Play Dance Convention, as well as regional competitions in El Paso, Texas such as the UTEP Dance Championship and Sun City Dance Classic.

Beyond academy-based work, his choreography and creative direction projects have spanned national and international stages from 2020 to the present, including show choreography for Unlimited Dance Academy (Guatemala) and Tempo Dance Studio (Mexico). His live performance credits include choreographing as an Assistant Choreographer for Ninel Conde (U.S. Tour), along with performance work alongside local artists such as Neomy Esmeralda and Eydrey.
Luis Heras’ stage experience extends across both the United States and Mexico, encompassing live performance and concept video work. In Los Angeles, his credits include Carnival Dance Performance & Concept Video with Brinn Nicole and Reconstruct Exhibition & Concept Videos with Hannah Gallagher. In Mexico, his work includes performances in Fearless by Mich Bejar and appearances in Monterrey for the Carlota High Heels Anniversary under the direction of Nohemi Aleman, highlighting his versatility across stage productions and visual dance projects.

Director
Cypher City
As the Owner, Founder, and Director of Cypher City, Luis Heras leads the creative and operational vision of the company, overseeing all programming, training, and productions since January 2024.
He designs and directs multi-level dance education for artists ages 13 and up, creating inclusive, high-quality training environments that support growth at every stage.
His role spans curriculum development, faculty direction, choreography, event production, and community outreach, ensuring Cypher City remains a space rooted in artistry, discipline, and opportunity.

Firehouse Fitness Studio

Since April 2024, Luis Heras has served as a faculty member at Firehouse Fitness Studio, teaching weekly beginner-level Heels and Floor Work classes for dancers ages 18 and up.
Through consistent training, intentional movement, and an uplifting atmosphere, he fosters a beautiful sense of family where dancers feel supported, confident, and empowered.
His classes prioritize foundational technique, self-expression, and connection—helping the community continue to grow stronger with every session.

Faculty Member &
Social Media Management
D'ansa Academy
From December 2019 to December 2025, Luis Heras served as a faculty member at D’qnsa Academy, teaching Jazz at the beginner to intermediate levels for dancers ages 8 and up.
Beyond weekly instruction, he played a key role as a competition choreographer and contributed extensively to annual recital productions, supporting the full creative and logistical process to ensure dancers were prepared, confident, and able to shine on stage.
His past positions also include Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Jazz Funk choreographer and instructor, as well as Social Media Management within the academy’s administration. This experience was foundational in shaping his understanding of choreography, production, and artist development, and remains a core influence in the work he leads today.

Luis Heras’ training is rooted in a global and continuously evolving movement education, with a strong focus on heels, contemporary, and industry-based performance. His studies include international experiences such as Heels & Feels in London and HeelsLand in Mexico City, alongside programs including Enigma National, Plexo: The Contemporary Experience, and The Stiletto Lab.
During the pandemic, he remained deeply committed to artistic growth through intensive programs such as The Heels Society (online) by Nohemi Aleman, The Complete Art of Dance by Kyle Hanagami, The Industry Program by Memo Martinez, and R3D One Summer Online-Training from Budapest.

His foundation is further supported by training at major conventions and touring programs across Mexico and the United States, shaping a versatile, disciplined, and internationally influenced approach to movement, performance, and choreography.

Luis Heras has trained with 100+ internationally recognized instructors across the U.S., Mexico, and Europe. Selected mentors include Kyle Hanagami, Nohemi Aleman, Dana Foglia, Blake McGrath, Brian & Scott Nicholson, Nika Kljun, Lex Ishimoto, Nicole Kirkland, Francisco Gella, Jaci Royal, Memo Martinez, Brinn Nicole, Hannah Gallagher, Kayla Brenda, Mich Bejar, Valentino Vladimirov, Daniela Caballero Cota, Kyla Fajardo, Mak Daftari, Viginia Rivas, and Teddy Forance.

EVENT PRODUCTION
Luis Heras has extensive experience in show and event production across the United States and Mexico. In El Paso, Texas, he contributed to multiple productions with D’ansa Academy, including Halftime Show (2024), Winter Show (2023, 2022), Live to the Beat (2023), Team Competition Show (2023), Keep in Mind: Just a Little Reminder (2022), and All of Us, an online production (2021).
Internationally, his production work in San José del Cabo, Mexico includes Bajo el Mar (2025), Around the World (2024), Danceflix (2023), and Tempo (2022) under the direction of Tempo Dance Studio.
In addition, he contributed to event production for Enigma Nacional in 2025, further demonstrating his ability to manage and support large-scale performances and events.
